FULL DAY CYCLING TOURS TO ROLOUS & KAMPONG PHLUK : 34km BIKING

At 7:00 AM, Drive of the city then start your day with a 15 km biking to the early temples of the Roluos Group. Roluos is the site of an ancient center of Khmer civilization known as Hariharalaya. It was the first town built by the Angkorian kings in the 8th and 9th century and consists of three main temples: Bakong, Lolei and Preah Ko. The surrounding countryside with its rice paddy fields and sugar palm trees are very typically Cambodian.

From there, take a characteristic Cambodian vehicle to the shores of Tonlé Sap Lake, where you will bike along and have the opportunity to learn about life on the lake. Tonlé Sap is South East Asia’s largest freshwater lake with its size varying greatly depending on the season, as it is swelling to about four times its size during the wet season. Board a local boat and visit Kampong Pluk, a village where you will see houses on stilts that are submerged when Tonlé Sap Lake extends. On the way, you will pass floating houses and impressive flooded forests, portraying life on the water. A delicious picnic lunch will be served in a floating house.

Transfer to Roluos Pagoda. Continue to cycle 12 km on the only remaining trace of the old Angkorian road between Beng Mealea and Angkor Thom, until you reach the temple of Chau Srei Vibol that is hidden in the jungle. Enjoy a break with some drinks and snacks.

From here, it is only a short 7 km ride to Wat Tabeng, a traditional village that is among the most scenic in Cambodia, set amidst a sea of rice fields. Here, in a clean and safe place on the premises of a picturesque wat, you will find your unique photographic opportunities.  Transfer back to your hotel.

Note:

  • Transfer you from hotel with car/van to Bakong Temple, where you will start your biking. After tours, you will be transfer with your bike back to hotel.
  • Your car/van and driver will be standby all day long while you are biking just in case you may need any assistance.
