REP-02: HALF DAY SUNRISE AT ANGKOR WAT + ANGKOR THOM TOUR BY TUK TUK + ELEPHANT RIDE (4:30AM – 12:00PM) (HDREP10)

Itinerary:

Early departure by Tuk Tuk to watch the spectacular sunrise in front of Angkor Wat. Then return back to the hotel to have breakfast. Continue by TukTuk to the South Gate of Angkor Thom, you will embark on an elephant ride from the South Gate of Angkor Thom through the jungle to the famous Bayon temple, unique for its 54 towers decorated with over 200 smiling faces of Avolokitesvara. REP-03: HALF DAY CHONG KNEAS FLOATING VILLAGE (AM: 08.30 - 12.30h. or PM:13.00 - 17.00h)

Itinerary:

Morning or afternoon, your private guide & driver will pick you up at your hotel in Siem Reap and start a tour to explore the floating village of Chong Khneas, located 10 kilometers south of Siem Reap. Take a traditional wooden boat for a ride on the Tonle Sap Lake, the "Great Lake" of Cambodia, one of the largest in Asia and flows into Tonle Sap River, joining the Mekong in Phnom Penh. During your boat ride through Chong Khneas, you will see ordinary Cambodians going about their daily life in the floating village. Your boat will briefly enter the edge of the Great Lake before docking with the Tara – the biggest boat on the Tonle Sap Lake. We will see a fishermen's "floating village" with floating schools, floating police station, etc. It is same as a big village floating on the lake, and the "village" move from place to place following water levels and current. And then visit “Les Artisans d’ Angkor – Chantiers Ecoles” of Siem Reap before driving back to hotel.

REP-04: HALF DAY TOUR – KAMPONG KHLEANG -TONLE SAP (AM: 08.00 - 12.30h. or PM:13.00 - 17.30h)

Itinerary:

AM/PM: We travel southeast to one of the largest and least-visited villages on the Tonle Sap Lake, Kompong Khleang, about 55km from Siem Reap. It has a population of about 10,000 people, all of whom make a living from the fishing industry. We explore the canals (wet season) or streets (dry season) of this incredible town. In the wet season, the houses appear to be floating, as water laps at the verandas, but in the dry season towering stilts are revealed, the houses almost like wooden skyscrapers. We visit one of the pagodas here, built on the site of an ancient temple, and see the wall paintings. We may also stop off to visit a house in the village to learn a little more about local life. We cruise into the open water of the great lake to see a small floating village and learn some more about this incredible natural flood barrier. Later we return to Siem Reap by road.

About Treak Village

Treak Village is located around 10 minutes drive from Siem Reap town. Treak Village is predominately a farming village where life revolves around the seasons and family. Life here is fairly simple, and while Siem Reap town is rapidly changing, change here is slow, giving you a chance to see the simple Cambodian way of life. Wander past rice fields, buffalo and oxen at work, or rest and experience the smiles as children rush to greet you. This is an opportunity to capture some amazing photographs and see first hand what life is like in a Cambodian Village. Your participation also directly benefits the villagers.

Itinerary:

Remork (Tuk Tuk), will pick you up from hotel and transfer you to a rural location (Treak Village); the Cooking class is in an outdoor covered pavilion, surrounded by Banana trees, bamboo. Take a short walk in the village to visit a local family and garden to see the ingredients growing. Learn about food superstition and beliefs. Our classes are very hands on and interactive and each person has an individual cooking station. Meals are eaten in a lovely Herb Garden, a pavilion surrounded by flowers and fresh herbs.

Bird watching is the most interesting adventure tour for tourist in Siem Reap-Angkor, Cambodia.

This is easy and cheap in price. To have a half-day tour (AM the best) to Phnom Krom or Chreav that just 15 km from town with just 20 minutes to reach the place.

You may enjoy and learn excited thing also gorgeous view from a short distance further and there are the paddy-fields and ponds that stretch to the edge of the great Tonle Sap lake, where many species of waders including Pratincole, Cuckoo, Treepie, Jacana, Swamphen and waterfowls. Many bitterns, herons, egrets, storks and even occasionally Pelican can be seen near the lake as well, and there is even the chance of an Adjutant flying over!

Usually the trips start at 5:30am to make the most of the best time of the day for bird-watching, and we will come back around 10:00am as the day become hotter.

Alternatively an afternoon and evening trip can be productive, especially for waders. Departure in the afternoon is 14:30, returning when it become too dark to bird! Your own timing is negotiable.

We will begin our tour by cycling to the local village. Along the way, your guides will point out interesting sights; you can opt to stop for photo opportunities. Your guides will then lead you to the oxcart site, where you will begin your fun ride!

Stop 2: Handmade Baskets

All aboard the oxcart! Your guides will then take you to a village where handmade baskets are made. Learn more about the craftsmanship of this trade, which sustains many local communities.

Stop 3: Local Market

Next up, we will ride to a bustling local market, where you will have the opportunity to browse and purchase handmade souvenirs and sample delicious local cuisine! Your guides will also tell you more about the role local markets play in the development of Cambodia’s rural economy.

Stop 4: Rice Wine

Itinerary:

Stop 1: Mushroom Farm

On our tour’s first stop, we will meet local mushroom harvesters. Mushrooms (not the psychedelic variety!) are central to many rural Cambodian dishes; find out more about this trade and its connection to the local community.

Stop 2: Lotus Farm

The lotus flower grows in mud, yet rises above it to grow untainted by its surroundings. In essence, the lotus is a symbol of purity, and carries deep religious significance for the local Cambodian-Buddhist community. On our next stop, we take you to a lotus farm, where you will be able to learn more about this remarkable flower, sample its fruits, and purchase locally-made lotus products. The farm is also wonderful photo opportunity!

Stop 3: The Stilt House

From the lotus farm, we will then ride to view stilt houses. Stilt houses, or pile dwellings (palafittes) are houses built over a soil surface or body of water. They are primarily built as protection against flooding, but are also useful in keeping out the creepy crawlies! Marvel at the construction of these houses and make friends with the villagers, who will be more than happy to share about their unique dwelling.

Stop 4: Sunset on the Tonle Sap

On our final stop, we will go the floating village of the Tonle Sap, where you will be able to photograph and interact with villagers who rely on fishing as their main source of sustenance. Your guides will then lead you up Phnom Krom hill, where you will be able to wind down and enjoy a beautiful Cambodian sunset.

REP-12: FULL DAY BATEAY SREY + GRAND CIRCUT TOURS – WITH LUNCH (08:00 AM – 7:00PM) – WITH LUNCH

Itinerary:

In the morning, visit to Banteay Srei temple (10th century), regarded as the jewel in the crown of classical Khmer Art. Continue to visit Banteay Samre, one of the most complete complexes at Angkor due to restoration using the method of “anastylosis”. Lunch included at local restaurant.

Afternoon, visit Takeo, Thommanon and Chau Say Tevoda. Continue the visit to Preah Khan temple. Built by the King Jayavarman VII, Preah Khan is, like Ta Prohm, a place of towered enclosures and shoulder-hugging corridors. Unlike Ta Prohm, however, Preah Khan is in a reasonable state of preservation and ongoing restoration efforts should maintain and even improve this situation. Then, continue your visit to Neak Pean, a fountain (built in the middle of a pool and representing the paradisiacal Himalayan mountain-lake), Ta Som, Eastern Mebon, guarded at its corner by stone figures of harnessed elephants, some of which are still in a reasonable state of preservation, and Pre Rup, the mountain-temple until sunset. Then, back to the hotel.

REP-14: FULL DAY TEMPLE BIKING TOUR (8:00 – 5:00PM) – WITH LUNCH

Exploring the majestic temple site of Angkor Wat by bike is the ideal way to experience this World Heritage site in Cambodia.

Itinerary:

8:00 am, Your guide and bike will wait for you at your hotel. From there, start biking to Angkor Thom compound, first stop is the Southgate with its huge statues depicting the churning of the ocean of milk. Short stop to take some photos then continue biking to explore the Bayon Temple, unique for its 54 towers decorated with over 200 smiling faces of Avolokitesvara, the Phimeanakas, the Royal Enclosure, the Elephants Terrace and the Terrace of the Leper King. REP-17: FULL DAY BENG MEALEA AND BANTEAY SREI (8:00AM – 5:00PM) WITH LUNCH

Morning: (start tour by 8:00AM), visit an ancient Hindu temple at the countryside, BANTEAY SREY (citadel of women, 35Km north of Siem Reap), was built from 968-1001 AD, is dedicated to Shiva God. In Cambodia it is a unique pink sandstone temple which has most beautiful deep carvings. Afternoon: Beng Mealea (Beng Mealea temple was built in the 12 cetury, the layout and style of Beng Mealea is very similar to Angkor Wat. Its current state, however, is dominated by jungle. Trees have grown out of the towers and vines entangle columns. Lintels and others building blocks lay around in a tumble and require visitors to clime up and down as they approach the completely collapsed central towers. Our tour begins with a bike ride to the sprawling fields of paddy. Here, your guides will introduce you to the day-to-day routines of local farmers. Many of our guides will be able to give you an in depth insight into this agricultural activity, as they have worked in the fields with their parents from a young age

Stop 2: Rattan Baskets

Next up, we will cycle to a home of a basket weaver. Learn more about this unique and intricate craft, which is traditionally passed down from parent to child.

Stop 3: Local Market

Our third stop will be at a bustling local market, where you will be able to take in the sights and sounds of locals buying and selling produce. Discover local products not found anywhere else in the world!

Stop 4: Local Lunch and Cooking Class

Start adventure by jeep and drive 65 kms to the northeast of Siem Reap for Phnom Koulen, the holy mountain, passing through country side and villages to enjoy a magical scenic view all the way. We’ll drive all the way up to the top of the mountain (about 45 minutes to reach there). On the hill we will trek to visit the thousands of lingams, the reclining Buddha statue. You will enjoy pic-nic lunch box which we’ve prepared from Siem Reap with cold soft drink. Take a rest or swim at your leisure at the waterfall. Return to hotel. Tour ends at 5:00pm.

REP-20: ONE NIGHT HOME STAY WITH LOCAL FAMILY- IN SIEM REAP

The best way to deep understand of our local life, is to connect your experience with their daily activities, eating the same food and overnight with them.

Itinerary:

Day 1: Our motor bike or Tuk Tuk drivers will you pick up from your hotel or guesthouse for a trip to our villages. Along the way you will pass many villages by seeing villagers, traditional houses, farms, animals and many more…. Our driver will explain to you briefly about Khmer traditional ways of living in the community.

Arrive at the village and welcome by our local family to the house. After a short break, you will have lunch with our local family. In late afternoon our family local guide taking you around the villages and showing around and then taking oxcart out of villages through rice field to see sunset with nice views of Cambodian rice field that stretched in many miles. Return home, take a shower and dinner with family again. After dinner you may take rest and overnight with the family. Or at your desire, you may spend sometimes to chitchat with family and learning more about their life and culture before time to bed

Day 2: After breakfast, you will be transferred back to city with our driver and drop you off at your hotel, guesthouse, or airport based on your schedule.

REP-24: JOINING GROUP THE SUNSET TOUR WITH TARA BOAT (3:30 PM -8:00 PM)

Itinerary:

The Tara Boat Sunset Tour of Chong Khneas will begin at 3.30pm, when we pick you up from your Hotel or Guesthouse in an air-conditioned vehicle. Our friendly and knowledgeable tour guides speak English (and Khmer of course), and they will ensure that you enjoy your tour, pointing out areas of local interest along the way and answering any questions you may have. It takes about 20 minutes to reach the port of Chong Khneas, and upon arrival we will exit the vehicle and jump onto one of the Mini Tara’s – smaller boats with life jackets and driven by experienced and safe local drivers.

On route to the Tara Boat we will make three stops. Firstly as we pass the rice paddys and lotus field we will have an opportunity to stop and take some photo of the lotus flowers which is a deeply important flower in Buddhism. We will then stop at the stilted houses just before the lake to see how the water levels effect the way people live as well as seeing a floating school. The third stop will be the Crocodile & Fish Farm at Chong Khneas to learn about some of the trades people on the life work in.

Once the trip through Chong Khneas is complete, your boat will briefly enter the edge of the Great Lake before docking with the Tara – the Biggest boat on the Tonle Sap Lake with unrivalled views of the floating village and of course the best place to watch the sunset. There you will enjoy a well-deserved meals and all you can drink including Cocktails – for free. Afterwards you can lie back in a hammock, take a seat on the viewing deck or get your photo taken at the steering wheel.

At about 6:45pm you’ll leave the Tara and head back to the port at Chong Khneas where your air-conditioned vehicle will be waiting to transport you directly home to your Hotel or Guesthouse.
