Detail Program 

Day1: Phnom Penh Arrival 

On arrival at Phnom Penh airport, transfer to your comfort hotel for check in. Phnom Penh was once considered the loveliest city of Indochina. Despite its recent turbulent history, it still maintains considerable charm.

Free at your own leisure and accommodation in Phnom Penh.

Day2: Phnom Penh Tours (B/L)

Breakfast at hotel, today start your first stop by visiting the Royal Palace built in 1866 and the Silver Pagoda located within the Royal Palace compound. The Silver Pagoda is so named because of its floor, which is made up of 5,000 silver tiles. Continue to the National Museum, dedicated exclusively to Khmer art and sculpture. The majority of the exhibits are from the Angkor period (9th to 15th century), but some date from as early as the 4thcentury. Lunch at local restaurant.

Afternoon, visit the Royal University of Fine Arts where young Cambodians learn the ancient arts of their ancestors. The most interesting part is the Dance Academy where young children practice the graceful movements of the beautiful national dances. Last stop for today, visit to Wat Phnom, an ancient pagoda on a hill, which marks the legendary founding place of the city. Overnight at hotel in Phnom Penh.

Day3: Phnom Penh - Kratie (B/L) (Driving distance: 336km = 6 hours)

 After breakfast at hotel, we will drive to Kratie. This is a real outpost town on the banks of the Se San River just off the Mekong. On the way, you may want to stop at Rubber plantation or Pepper plantation if you wish and explore local live along the way. Stop at Snourl for lunch then continue the road to Kratie town and check in at the hotel/home stay. Overnight at Kratie.

Day4: Kratie - Koh Trong - Dolphon Pool (B/L)

After breakfast join the queue of local people to catch one of the small ferry boats to Koh Trong Island. The ferry ride takes about 10 minutes to reach the eastern side of the island. Depending on the water levels of the Mekong, walk over the sandy beach to the levee bank of the island or go by bike to see many traditional Khmer houses built on stilts with rooftop decorations. There is a home-stay facility close to the northern part of the island, just before heading inland, which serves Khmer food in the house or under the trees overlooking the Mekong River. Lunch at local restaurant.

Take the ferry back to Kratie and then head north to Kampi Dolphin Pool passing the place where sticky rice (Krolan) and pickled raw fish (Nhem) are produced. Thma Kreae village is particularly famous for Krolan. This tasty snack is famous all over Cambodia, and locals would never leave Kratie Province without buying a stock for relatives and friends back home. About 1km from Thma Kreae Village is Phnom Sambok from where there are great views of the Mekong. The Kampi Dolphin Pool is the largest dolphin pool on the Mekong River. Travel by boat to view the rare Irrawaddy dolphins in their natural habitat. There are handicraft sellers at the site who produce wooden carvings for sale. A further 1km north is Kampi Rapids where there will be time to relax, swim and enjoy the rapids. Overnight at Kratie (homestay/hotel).

Day5: Kratie - Kampong Cham - Kampong Thom (B/L) (Driving distance: 260km = 6 hours)

Explore charming Kratie before heading off to Kampong Cham enjoying the countryside en route. Kampong Cham has plenty of interesting sights, some of which are old colonial buildings, and Wat Nokhor with its ancient temple and modern style pagoda. Lunch at local restaurant then drive to Kampong Thom to overnight at Sambor Village Hotel.

Day6: Kampong Thom - Sambor Prei Kuk - Siem Reap (B/L)  (Driving distance: 130km = 4 hours)

An early morning start to drive to the archeological site of Sambor Prei Kuk, which is dotted with hundreds of pre-Angkorian style temples. Afterwards drive to Siem Reap, the base for visiting the world famous temples of the ancient city of Angkor, which was home to the capital of the powerful Khmer Empire dating from 802 AD to 1350 AD. This stunning and extensive site sprawls through the dense jungle, covering an area of 60 square miles. Lunch at local restaurant.

Visit the massive jungle temple of Beng Mealea, the size and scale of Angkor Wat but utterly swallowed by the jungle. Continue to Siem Reap for overnight at hotel.

Day7: Siem Reap - Temples Tours (B/D)

Today spend a full day exploring the ancient ruins with the South Gate of Angkor Thom, which is famous for its series of colossal human faces carved in stone, the impressive Bayon Temple, the Royal Enclosure, Phimeanakas, the Elephants Terrace, and the Terrace of the Leper King.

Afternoon visit the most complete temple, Angkor Wat. This architectural masterpiece was constructed in the 12th century and covers an area of about 210 hectares and has galleries with columns, libraries, pavilions, courtyards and ponds full of water reflecting the towering temple.

Tonight enjoy dinner with Apsara Dance Show at local restaurant. Overnight in Siem Reap. 

Day8: Siem Reap - Temples Tours (B/L)

The jungle covered temple of Ta Prohm is an incredible sight. There are enormous fig trees and gigantic creepers which embrace the stone foundations of the structure giving the impression of being reclaimed by the powerful forces of nature.  Lunch at local restaurant.

Afternoon, explore the surrounding temples including Banteay Kdei, Srah Srong, Takeo, Thommanon and Chau Say Tevoda as well as the grand circuit with Preah Khan, Kravan, Neak Pean, Krol Ko, Ta Som, East Mebon and Pre Rup Temples. Walk up Phnom Bakheng Hill for a view of the sunset over the monuments. Overnight in Siem Reap.

Day9: Siem Reap - Tonle Sap Lake (B/L)

This morning embark on a short cruise on Tonle Sap Lake (Chung Khneas), Cambodia’s biggest natural body of water. Pass floating villages, friendly children in small boats and fishermen at work. Lunch at local restaurant.

Afternoon, visit Artisans D’Angkor, an insight into the skilled craftsmanship of Cambodian traditional handicrafts. View the trainees learning the art of stone carving, wood sculpture, the making of small furniture, the art of lacquer and polychrome. Then drive to visit the Silk Farm in Puok, established by a French NGO, where the steps of silk production will be demonstrated.

Day10: Siem Reap - Battambang (B/L) (Driving distance: 175km = 3 hours)

Breakfast at hotel. We departure to Battambang, the second largest city and the biggest rice producer in Cambodia. Upon arrival, check in at hotel for refreshment and transfer to hotel for check in. Lunch at local restaurant.

Afternoon, visit the archeological Provincial Museum before departure to visit Ek Phnom temple in the 11st century and the colonial style houses along the Sangke River. On the way back, you can visit the traditional Cambodian houses and the artisan factory of rice flaky cake. Overnight at hotel in Batambang.

Day11: Battanbang - Cooking class - Tours (B/L)

Morning, join Nary’s Cambodian Food cooking class. Class started from 9h00 to 12h00. The lesson by Mrs Nary will start with a guided trip to the local market; you will learn 4 courses meal including a dessert. Participants will also receive a recipe leaflet with all the instructions necessary to reproduce their dishes at home. And of course you get to eat what you've cooked for lunch.

Evening try out for a ride on the Bamboo Train, a fun experience and also a great opportunity to see the sunset view at countryside. It’s like a childhood dream come true. Overnight at hotel.

Day12: Battambang - Phnom Penh (B/L) (Driving distance: 291km = 6 hours)

After breakfast at hotel, overland transfer back to Phnom Penh. On the way stop by at Pottery Village at Kampong Chnang to admire hard work of local family who pottery by manual for a living. Lunch at local restaurant.

Continue the road to Phnom Penh.  Upon arrival, check in hotel and overnight in Phnom Penh.

Day13: Phnom Penh - Chi Phat (B/L/D) (Driving distance: 290km = 4 hours) No Guide

7:30 am Departure to Chi Phat (organize by TO)

10:30 am Arrive at Andoung Tuek village and pick up by CBET (see options in tour notes)

12:00 pm Arrive in Chi Phat and register at CBET office

12:30 pm Have lunch at CBET office and escort to home stay/guesthouse by owner

13:30 pm Walk to nearby Chhay Chrey rapids with a local guide (about 2km), swim and relax

15:30 pm CBET Moto taxi Pick up from water fall travel to visit Bold Mountain

17:00 pm Travel with CBET Moto taxi to Bold Mountain View and Sunset point (about 3km from commune)

18:30 pm Dinner at CBET office

Day17: Sihanoukville - Free Day (B)

Free at your own leisure to explore beaches activities at the surrounding islands, included snorkeling, diving, fishing, trekking on the islands. Check with your hotel for more information if you are interested.

Day18: Sihanoukville - Phnom Penh - Departure  (B) (Driving distance: 220km = 4 hours)

After breakfast at hotel, transfer by road back to Phnom Penh and go direct to Phnom Penh airport to catch your departure flight for next destination.
