DETAIL PROGRAM

Day1: Phnom Penh Arrival  

Arrival at the Phnom Penh airport, greeted by our guide and driver for transfer to your hotel and free time.

Day2: Phnom Penh Tours (B)

After breakfast at hotel, 8:00AM we leave hotel to visit the Royal Palace, built by King Norodom in 1866, and the Silver Pagoda, located within the grounds of the Royal Palace. The Silver Pagoda is so named because of its floor, which is made up of 5,000 silver tiles. Continue to National Museum, one of Phnom Penh's true architectural gems. The Museum is instantly recognizable with its warm red terracotta and its gracefully cured roof topped by dozens of guardian Nagas. It was designed in Khmer style in 1917 by famed French architect Georges Groslier&Ecole Des Arts Cambodgiens.

Afternoon, visit the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum (S21 prison). This prison was a high school, used as a prison by Pol Pot's security forces, and became the largest center for detention and torture during the rule of the Khmer Rouge. Then continue to the notorious Killing Fields "Choeung Ek", 15km southwest of Phnom Penh. This is the site of the brutal execution of more than 17,000 individuals, most of whom were incarcerated in Tuol Sleng Prison during the Pol Pot regime (1975–1979).

Day3: Phnom Penh - Mondulkiri (B)

After breakfast, drive to Mondulkiri. Mondulkiri is one of the most remote regions of Cambodia. It is located in the southern highlands, vast area between southern Laos, Vietnam Central and eastern Cambodia. Mondulkiri area consists of a maze of massive inhospitable basaltic plateaus, hills, savannas, swamps, forests and clearings dense jungles on red soil. Proto-Indo-Chinese countries, ethnic minorities or Austro-Asiatic Austronesian origin. Arrival in Sen Monorom, capital of the province, in the late afternoon. Transfer and check in hotel, and rest for the day. Evening transfer to explore around and have dinner at local restaurant (at your own expense) then transfer back to your hotel and overnight.

Day4: Mondulkiri - Elephant Experience - Homestay With Ethnic Family (B/L/D)

We leave Sen Monorom after breakfast and drive 9km to the Bunong village of Putang which is the elephant village. Then we start walking from this village to look for elephants in the forests. Once we find them, you will be introduced to the herd of elephants and get to know more about their history, character, behavior, body language and relationship with mahout family. You will be able to feed the elephant buckets of bananas before walking alongside them or riding on the neck through the countryside and forest to O’te waterfall. At noon, the elephant must be taken to pastures for at least 2 hours in order to make sure they get enough food for the day. Elephants eat up to 300 kg of vegetation per day in order to sustain themselves. While the elephant is grazing, you will have a picnic Takeout Lunch by the waterfall. In the afternoon, the mahout will bring the elephant to the river for a wash. You are welcomed to get in the water and give them a hand. Then hike before arrival in a family where we spend the night. Dinner and overnight at the inhabitant.

Day5: Mondulkiri - Kratie - Dolphon Watching - Homestay (B/L/D)

After breakfast with local family, says good bye to them and drive to Kratie, a real outpost town on the banks of the Se San River just off the Mekong. Upon arrival, transfer to lunch at local restaurant then check in your hotel.

Afternoon, travel by boat to view the rare Irrawaddy dolphins in their natural habitat. The Kampi Dolphin Pool is the largest dolphin pool on the Mekong River. A further 1km north is Kampi Rapids where there will be time to relax, swim and enjoy the rapids. Overnight at Kratie (homestay).

Day6: Kratie - Stung Treng (Bungalow / Camping) (B)

This morning, we thanks to our hosted family, then head towards town to join another picturesque Mekong, Stung Treng. We visit a coffee plantation and coffee degusting that if atypical way cocoa taste. We visit a local NGO, Silk Farm, which produces silk while helping local communities. Then install the natural lodge overlooking the Mekong and offers spectacular views. Then stroll through bucolic scenery on the banks of this mythical river in order to discover the villages of this region of the Mekong. Bungalow/Camping over night at Mekong Bird Resort (road 3-4h and 1-2h walk).

Day7: Stung Treng - Waterfall - Dolphin & Birds Watching (Bungalow / Camping) (B)

Departure by vehicle and by boat in the direction of the border with Laos. Discover the river dolphins and observe the islands and flooded areas of this natural border. Return to the resort in the afternoon and explore the flooded forest, then sunset bird watching. Bungalow/Camping over night at Mekong Bird Resort.

Day8: Stung Treng - Preah Vihear (B)

Today we have a long journey north to the mountaintop temple of Preah Vihear. Leaving Tbeng Meanchey, we take a road north towards the Thai border before reaching the Dangrek Mountains which form a natural border between these two neighbors. We drive slowly and carefully up the steep road to the summit. Our team set up camp right beneath the third enclosure of the temple and we explore this majestic sight when all the other tourists have departed back to Thailand. Set on the cliffs of the Dangrek range, this is undoubtedly the most dramatic location of any of the ancient Khmer temples. The views are endless and we take in sunset over the Cambodian plains below. O/N at Preah Vihear.

Day9: Preah Vihear - Koh Ker - Beng Mealea - Siem Reap (B)

We journey southwest from Preah Vihear to Koh Ker Temple, a 10th century capital abandoned in the remote north of Cambodia for more than a thousand years. We continue to the massive jungle temple of Beng Mealea, the size and scale of Angkor Wat but utterly swallowed by the jungle. We clamber about this titanic of temples that feels just like it would have when discovered by the first explorers.

Continue the road to Siem Reap, transfer directly to your hotel for relax for the day. O/N Siem Reap.

Day10: Siem Reap - Free Day (B)

After a long travel, today we take a break to recharge the battery and be ready for next chapter of visit to the World Size Heritage Destination.

Day11: Siem Reap - Angkor Tours By Tuk Tuk And Hiking (B)

This morning we leave early, to enjoy the freshness of the morning. Departure by TUK TUK to the archaeological site of Angkor. From here we walk ballad to discover Angkor Thom temples. Through the small paths between villages and forests we avoid the crowd of travelers and main roads; to discover Angkor otherwise. Passing on dirt trails through small villages and the forest to reach the temples. The day begins with a hike on the wall of the Royal cites Angkor Thom. We continue towards the Bayon and Baphuon, Royal Palace followed by the Elephant Terrace. A final isolates temple Wat Phnom toe.

Back to Siem Reap. Dinner not included and overnight at the hotel. (3-4 hours walk)

Day12: Kbal Spean - Banteay Srei (B)

Departure by vehicle to the River Thousand Lingas, discovery walk to the riverbed carved in the eleventh century in the forests of the sacred mountain Phnom Kulen. Cascade- swimming next season. (1:15 min. Walk to / + / 110m).

Continue to the enchanting temple of the Banteay Srei, nearly everyone's favorite site. The special charm of this temple lies in its compact size, remarkable state of preservation, and the excellence of it decorative carvings. Return to Siem Reap and overnight at hotel in Siem Reap. (1h30 walk)

Day13: Siem Reap - Angkor Biking (B)

We continue our tour of Angkor, this time by bicycle. Departure to the famous Angkor Wat temples via the east gate. Continue through the trails and the forest to reach the royal city of Angkor Thom. After lunch we always start by bicycle towards the Preah Khan. We travel on foot and bicycle, which allows us to discover the lesser known temples and isolated in the forest as the temple of Ta Nei and Takeo.

In late afternoon you will cycle back to hotel. Night in Siem Reap. (1 hour walk) (25-40 km cycling on dirt road and paved road / ± 0m)

Day14: Siem Reap - Departure (B)

After breakfast, free until time to transfer without guide to the international airport of Siem Reap for departure.
